On Monday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News that while diplomacy remained Trump’s first option for Iran, he is “unafraid to use the lethal force and might of the United States military if and when he deems that necessary”.
Iranian state TV warned that “the bullet won’t miss” in a new broadcast referencing Trump's 2024 assassination attempt.
On Tuesday afternoon, Trump announced he had canceled “all meetings with Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops.” He urged Iranian “patriots” to keep protesting and vowed that Iran will “pay a big price” for its actions. “Help is on its way.
