Relatives of Renee Good, who was killed by an ICE agent, have retained an attorney who represented the family of George Floyd.

The family of Renee Maklin Good, the 37-year-old mother of three who was fatally shot by an ICE agent, is mourning her death after announcing a civil probe into her case.

The former father-in-law of Renee Good says he doesn't blame ICE agents for her fatal shooting, calling it a "hard situation" with "bad choices" made.

The Romanucci & Blandin law firm also represented the family of George Floyd after he was killed in 2020 by a Minneapolis police officer. That lawsuit resulted in a record settlement.

Current and former ICE agents have expressed concerns about what happened in Minneapolis, and a broader push to recruit more agents.

Ms. Good was killed by an ICE agent last week. Separately, a federal judge put off ruling on a request by the state to block the surge of immigration agents to the Minneapolis area.

"People in Minneapolis and across this country truly, truly care about what happened to Renee Good," the family's attorney said.
