Four astronauts returned to back to Earth Thursday after spending nearly eight months in space aboard the International Space Station. They made a fiery descent through the atmosphere before splashing down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Los Angeles.
The Crew 13 fliers completed a mission spanning more than 100 million miles with a pinpoint splashdown off the coast of Southern California.
SpaceX has recovered Ship 40, the first Starship to survive splashdown. On Oct. 7 it arrived at the Port of Brownsville.
SpaceX's Starship Flight 14 was destroyed on reentry, but it deployed 26 Starlink V3 satellites, a payload win that bolsters Starlink's revenue and unit economics despite the stock's steep valuation.
