Widespread winter storm warnings have been issued across the Midwest on Thursday ahead of the significant storm.

The latest forecast shows Milwaukee will likely miss the worst of a winter storm expected this weekend across much of Wisconsin, though the area will still see a mix of snow, rain and wind.

New York City, New Jersey, southern New England and coastal communities along the East Coast faced blizzard warnings and some of the biggest snowfall totals in years.
