Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg felt firsthand how helping to initiate an NBA offense can be a physically demanding task.

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 76-69, in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday.

Jason Kidd said that he wants to play Cooper Flagg at point guard this season, although Lonzo Ball thinks a different plan will maximize the young talent.

It's difficult to script a Summer League game with more excitement and hype than the Saturday matchup between Cooper Flagg's Dallas Mavericks and Dylan Harper's San Antonio Spurs.

Irving has struggled with injuries in the past, and the Mavs should still be able to get by without him and allow him to get back to full strength. Their championship window will stay wide open for as long as Davis and Flagg are also there and healthy, so there's no need to rush things and risk further injury.
