According to a new report, Marvel Studios is mulling over whether to keep Robert Downey Jr. as the MCU's Doctor Doom after Avengers: Secret Wars. We also have updates on Ghost Rider and the Blade movie.

When Marvel Studios announced at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con that Robert Downey Jr. would be coming back to the MCU, fans were excited at first, until they heard he wouldn’t be returning as Iron Man.

With Robert Downey Jr. proclaiming "New mask, same task" when he was revealed as the MCU's Doctor Doom, and Anthony Mackie stating that he is "continuing" his legacy, this feeds into the notion that Doctor Doom will be directly tied to the MCU's Iron Man.

Considering Downey Jr played Tony Stark and his superhero alter-ego Iron Man in the MCU between 2008 and 2019, some observers might think this is just a nod to the two iconic Marvel characters he'll have played by the time Avengers: Secret Wars arrives in December 2027.

A good chunk of Doomsday could focus on a clash between Avengers and X-Men with RDJ’s Doom cackling in the background, with a kidnapped Franklin by his side. The premise certainly gives the Fantastic Four a reason to breach their multiversal walls and zip over to 616 to meet the New Avengers.

In Marvel Comics, Doom’s fixation on Franklin is legendary. He views the boy’s near-limitless powers as the key to creating and ruling Battleworld, a twisted reality of his own making as seen in Secret Wars.

First Steps” is the third Marvel movie to hit theaters this year, but it packs way more hidden references and nods than “Captain America: Brave New World” or “Thunderbolts.” It’s not on the same level of Easter eggs as last year’s “Deadpool and Wolverine,
