On Wednesday, veteran federal prosecutor Maurene Comey was, as she later wrote in an email to former colleagues, fired “without reason” by the Justice Department.

Ms Comey's firing comes after her prosecution team failed in their bid to convict Sean Combs on the most serious charges he faced of racketeering and sex-trafficking.
