AI owner Elon Musk made some big claims about Grok’s capability, saying it was “better than PhD level in every subject.”

The response comes after X's Grok chatbot began spewing antisemitic and pro-Hitler comments earlier this week.

Musk's announcement comes hours after xAI debuted its latest flagship AI model, Grok 4. The 54-year-old discussed the recent innovation during a nearly hour-long livestream shared on xAI's X page, during which he did not mention the chatbot's integration into Tesla vehicles.

Elon Musk announced Grok 4, claiming it can fix entire source code files, sparking mixed reactions online. While some users praised its capabilities, others questioned its cost and compared it to competitors.

Elon Musk said changes his xAI company made to Grok to be less politically correct had resulted in the chatbot being “too eager to please” and susceptible to being “manipulated.” That apparently led it to begin spewing out anti-Semitic and pro-Hitler comments on Musk’s X social platform Tuesday.
