Mother in custody after 15-month-old child dies in Queens
JAMAICA, Queens (WABC) -- A 15-month-old child has died and his mother is in police custody. The incident happened inside a home on 157th Street in the Jamaica section of Queens on Monday, around 1:30 p.m.
A 15-month-old baby was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead in Jamaica, Queens, according to the NYPD.
A baby died in Queens after being rushed to the hospital on Monday afternoon, according to police. The 15-month-old baby’s mother, 28, was taken to the hospital with slashes to her wrist, police said.
Police responded to a residence on 157th Street in the South Jamaica neighborhood, where they found the child unresponsive and the mother with slash injuries to her wrists. The child was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital, where the mother was also taken in stable condition, according to the NYPD.
