The most prestigious tennis tournament in the world is nearing its end as Iga Świątek cruised past American Amanda Anisimova to win Saturday’s Wimbledon women’s final while a battle of the top two men’s stars — Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz — concludes the event Sunday.
Born in Innichen, South Tyrol, Italy, Sinner grew up watching his parents work hard. His father, Johann, is a chef, and his mother, Siglinde, worked as a waitress both at the Talschlusshutte ski lodge. His older brother, Marc, was adopted in 1998 and shares a close bond with Jannik, though he once skipped his brother’s final to attend an F1 event.
