The UK and France agreed a deal to send migrants arriving on small boats to the UK, in return for legal asylum seekers.

The European Commission said it would review the UK–France migrant returns deal before it can take effect, as concerns mount among other EU countries over its potential impact on the bloc’s asylum system.
