Canada has said its position on the territorial integrity of India is absolute -- the first such statement since the wedge driven between the two nations last year over President Justin Trudeau's allegations.

Speaking on the activities of Khalistan supporters in Canada, the country's minister for foreign affairs said that it was 'awful but lawful'.

Canada said that ‘India’s territorial integrity must be respected’ in a statement which would be the first such after allegations by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that India was behind the murder of Khalistani separatist terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar which soured New Delhi-Ottawa relations.
