UPDATE on the swan that came in a couple weeks ago, we chose not to go through with the surgery to remove the object from his belly since the veterinarian gave him a 50% chance of surviving it. Instead we have opted to monitor the swan while giving him plenty of fibrous food to see if he will eventually pass it through. In the mean time, we came to a conclusion as to what the object could be. It appears to be a crayfish lure that has part of the hook (missing the curvy hook end). So we are also
