On July 26, thanks to the persistent efforts of Jerry Natanine and the people of Clyde River, the Supreme Court of Canada quashed the National Energy Board’s five-year seismic testing project of Baffin Bay and Davis Strait. When we visited this community of about 1,000 people on the East coast of Baffin Island, we were touched by the warm welcome we received and inspired by their commitment to protect the land.
