One of Handel's most beautiful oratorios was revived in 2017 at the Festival d'Ambronay, performed by the Accademia Bizantina ensemble and conducted by Ottavio Dantone. Arguably his most popular work, George Frideric Handel's oratorio ‘Messiah’ was first performed #onthisday in 1742, at The Great Music Hall in Dublin, Ireland (premiered almost a year later in London).
