This is steer of Khillar breed. Khillar is breed of zebu cattle and it originated from Maharashtra state and Karnataka state of India. Khillar cattle is known for their distinct shape of horns. Khillar cattle are very hardy and very acclimated to tropical weather which make them very useful for draft and farming related works. The Zoo is hearing the pitter patter of hooves with the new addition of a zebu calf born April 2! The male calf was born weighing just 26 pounds and standing only two feet tall. Zebu are one of the planet’s oldest and smallest breed of cow!
